Welcome to the Shepherds’ Fields Biblical Park. Situated in ‘Bethlehem – Ephrata’ in Judah, this is the field where Boaz redeemed Ruth, where David was born to Jesse, where young David tended the flocks (the sacred goats for God) and where Joseph and Mary returned for the Census and gave birth to Jesus. From this place, the fulfillment of the Micah Prophecy will come forth, “For out of you (Bethlehem) the City of David, will come a ruler who will shepherd my people, Israel” (Micah 5).
This valley has been amazingly preserved, almost as it was in ancient times. Located along the ‘cobblestone way’ that leads between Bethlehem and Ein Kerem (where Elizabeth and John the Baptist were living), it is easy to imagine Joseph and Mary traveling this way as they returned from the Census. New discoveries of ancient churches such as that at Katisima (with the stone where Mary rested on her way to the Fields; ‘Katisima’ means ‘seat’ in Greek and was mentioned in the proto-Gospel of James 17:2-3 as the spot where Mary rested), the Judah Kings’ Palaces and church (discovered at nearby Kibbutz Ramat Rachel), the Byzantine-era church in the valley of the Shepherds’ Fields. In the Book of Luke, Chapter 2 it is written that:
“…the shepherds were in the field, watching their flocks by night. Suddenly, they heard and saw the angelic host above those fields, declaring ‘today, here in the City of David (tower = city, like the tower used for the ‘sacred goats for God’, in Hebrew: Migdal haEder in Bethlehem-Ephrata) a Savior has been born!
They were told to go and see that baby,
‘…wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”
While standing in the valley, one can also see the Church of the Nativity (so named by Queen Helena in the 4th Century as the ‘birthplace of Jesus’) - - all of these places and names have all been helpful in identifying and evidencing that this is the location of the true Shepherds’ Fields Valley of Bethlehem-Ephrata in Judah.
It is imperative that sites like the Shepherds’ Fields Valley be preserved and prepared to allow for the People of God to visit and to pray within; thus, we introduce you to the Shepherds’ Fields Biblical Park. The park, with its sacred history, is intended to be open for visitation by multitudes of Pilgrims from around the world as their most enduring holy site. However, this sacred land is in danger of being plowed under, developed or destroyed unless we respond NOW. We, the People of God the world over, have the opportunity and the responsibility to band together to ensure the preservation of this incredible land, the Shepherds’ Fields Valley in Bethlehem-Ephrata in Judah.
When you purchase One Sponsorship of one ‘TEFAKH’ from Tefakh al Tefakh in the Holy Land, Ltd., you will be the Sponsor and Redeemer of a portion of this incredible property equal to one (1) Tefakh (from Hebrew, meaning one (1) ‘handbreadth of land’). This unique cooperation between Tefakh sponsors, the Israel Ministry of Tourism, Israel Land Authority, the City of Jerusalem, East Jerusalem Development, Ltd., the Moreshet Heritage Foundation and Ancient Pathways Travel, Ltd., will guarantee its preservation.`
As the Shepherds’ Fields Biblical Park, the property will be preserved by developing walking paths and tasteful signage. No cathedrals, no great museums, no commercialization; just a naturally beautiful and profound place that is central to the amazing stories of God and the lineage of King David and Jesus. Three important steps need to be addressed in order to actualize this project: a) Complete the acquisition of the park land and register it with the Israel Land Authority b) Develop a ‘cobblestone way’ for visitors and a promenade overlooking the Shepherds’ Fields Park c) Develop a suitable parking facility. d) Distribute and share this information with millions of travelers who will visit this and other sites in conjunction with Ancient Pathways Travel, Ltd. With the purchase of one (1) Tefakh Sponsorship, you will be sponsoring a portion of land in the Shepherds’ Fields Park; you will receive a frame-worthy Certificate of Sponsorship and your name will be inscribed in the Golden Book and in the Shepherds’ Fields mosaic stone monument honoring sponsors - - fulfilling a Testimony for yourself or loved ones so that one day, when you will be asked, “What have you to do with the Lord, the God of Israel?” (Joshua 22:24a, 24b), your Sponsorship and the preservation of the Shepherds’ Fields Park will be the “…witness between us and you, and between our generation after us…”
